The #DRIFT project chronicles a spacecraft’s journey to the far reaches of our galaxy, heading for the solar system of the exoplanet TRAPPIST-1e. Studio ACD contributed to this production—which blends live performance with immersive projection—by creating the multimedia content. A continuous 45-minute sequence transports the audience light-years away from our solar system under the command of Jana, the captain of a vessel embodied by the hemispherical dome itself. The visual design sits at the intersection of two roles: serving as the scenic backdrop for a live performance while also acting as a protagonist during key exploration sequences. The visual experience alternates between high-intensity moments and contemplative interludes, shifting from photorealistic 3D renderings to abstract, graphic visuals.
