The Analog Nîmes
“La Nîmes analogue” is an immersive, interactive art installation located at the end of the visitor circuit at the Musée de la Romanité in Nîmes. Before heading back outside, visitors are invited to explore an “analogous city”—a tribute to the *città analoga* concept developed in the 1970s by architects Arduino Cantàfora and Aldo Rossi. This city is simultaneously real and imaginary, composed of various historical layers; it represents the eternal city—the archetype of all Roman and Mediterranean cities. Interactive icons at three points within the composition allow visitors to trigger 15 narratives, each focusing on a signature piece from the museum’s collection. Each story offers insight into the connection between the artwork and the city’s history.
