16 384

The exhibition 16384, produced for the New Taipei City Art Center, is based on a dialogue between the Taiwanese artist Tong Yang Tze, an internationally renowned painter and calligrapher, and the ACD studio. The artist made available to the studio a set of fragments of works sharing the same format, that of traditional Chinese paper, which the studio integrated into a scenography comprising 7 large motorized mobiles.

The mobiles can each take 4 distinct orientations, offering the device a set of 16,384 combinations playing with the black and white contrast of the paintings in the 3 dimensions of space. Mobiles, if they are similar to certain creations of kinetic art, serve above all to develop an original mode of recomposition.
