The analogous Nîmes is an artistic, immersive and interactive creation, located at the end of the visit to the permanent collection of the Musée de la Romanité in Nîmes. Before returning to the city of Nîmes, visitors are invited to play with an analogous city, a tribute to the concept developed in the 1970s by architects Arduino Cantàfora and Aldo Rossi.
The analogous Nîmes is a city that is both real and imaginary, made up of different periods of history whose buildings are tirelessly constructed and deconstructed according to the presence of visitors. It represents the eternal city, the matrix of all Roman and Mediterranean cities.
In 3 places in the composition, graphic icons are displayed, allowing visitors to trigger 15 stories concerning as many emblematic works from the collection. Each story allows us to better understand the link uniting this work with the history of the city.
